Executive Values
True executive effectiveness transcends the awareness and engagement of classical management skills such as strategic planning, financial acumen, and tactical shrewdness. It embraces, in addition, a clear focus on leadership values and principles and a burning desire to do the right thing.

The Reflective Leader leads within the context of a clear set of beliefs about what they hold to be important in their stewardship of the organization they lead.

Joe Eastman Associates works with the executive to uncover with clarity who they are, what they value and how they add value. Leaders often understand what their competencies are, but much less clearly understand, and can articulate what they stand for beyond bottom line results. We engage the leader in a deep, guided reflection about what their unique contribution can be within and outside their organization based on their claified values.

Reflective Leadership Retreats
Now more than ever Leaders need an opportunity to get away from their daily challenges to reflect on what is important to them not just in the context of their leadership role, but in their whole life.

The continuing uncovering of moral lapses in leadership mandate that leaders and their Boards of Directors hold themselves accountable for decisions and actions that are sound, ethical, and values-based.

Joe Eastman Associates provides a structured, yet personalized opportunity for small groups of executives to get away on a quarterly basis to identify and reinforce their leadership credo and commitments, and set goals in a discrete, supportive environment with like minded peers.

Executive Career Reflection
The focus in this area is also values based. Joe Eastman Associates is committed to support leaders in finding the next opportunity that represents the “best fit” based not only on a skills match, but even more importantly on values compatibility.

We support the executive in identifying and effectively presenting their true self through stylized achievement focused résumé’s, and interviewing strategies that place them on a confident and even playing field with potential employers. Networking skills are honed and supported. We assist the executive in objectively reviewing job offers in the context of their values.

Purpose and Legacy Leadership
Joe Eastman Associates works with executives who are interested in creating a value in adding legacy; those who want to be remembered for not only what they did but how they did it; how they showed up as a leader, what they not only said, but what they did. Purpose and Legacy are associated with what the leader does intentionally, and with passion to add value in a life giving way. We work with leaders to bring clarity around these matters and support them in their engagement.

Life Direction Planning
Joe Eastman is a champion for a holistic approach to executive “retirement” planning. If fact we need to retire the “R’ word altogether, and not replace it with some catchy synonym. It is a concept that has outlived its usefulness for an increasing number of executives. The reality is that executives want to continue to be engaged intellectually, and have a continuing sense of value. They want to maintain relationships that are significant and energy giving. And they want to maintain a healthy life style.

Joe Eastman Associates recognizes that preparation for this potentially rewarding “third-third” of life goes well beyond the traditional financial planning aspect. We work with executives to bring clarity and excitement into their choices regarding future life plans.

Interpersonal Skills Coaching
In leadership and in life rock solid interpersonal skills are the foundational key to success and fulfillment. The ultimate contribution of a leader will always be judged in how they went about it. The “how” embraces not only the values base, but how the leader shows up in relation to his or her various constituencies.

In our experience leaders fail more frequently in this regard than through the lack of competence in the managerial mechanical basics.

We engage the leader in a constructive interpretation of 360 feedback and coach in strategies for improvement.
